Friendly Fire at the Veterans Hospital
Friendly Fire at the Veterans Hospital is the only book to expose the politics and corruption at the Veterans Hospital in Long Beach, California.
Therapists falsify reports. Subordinates control administrators. Therefore doctors hide abuse. Meanwhile VA officials continue business as usual.
Stories at VA hospitals shock the public. Meanwhile abuse of veterans is rampant. However, the cover-up, as they say, is always worse than the crime.
Mistreatment and malpractice of veterans is a crime. In addition willful neglect of patients is criminal. However the cover-up by doctors, hospital directors, administrators, and investigative agencies continues.
The Report
The Chief Therapist is only one person raising the issue of therapists giving inaccurate and improper radiation therapy treatment to our US Veterans.
The therapists lie on written reports. Subsequently the Chief Therapist reports their cavalier attitude to doctors and administrators. No one is listening.
After that the hospital attacks the Chief Radiation Therapist, stripping her of her authority, and allows rampant malpractice and mistreatment to continue.
The Long Beach VA Hospital files false application information to the American College of Radiology in order to obtain accreditation. After attaining accreditation however the doctors have no intention of abiding by the ACR regulations.
Wounding of the Veterans in the Radiation Therapy Department is no accident; the therapists just do not care, and no one is going to hold them accountable. Doctors send patients to the emergency room for treatment, or to a hyperbaric chamber. Subsequently wounding is categorized as “side effects” and no one listens.
The Cover Up
The therapists control the doctors. Professional and personal leverage is a weapon. Therefore doctors lie to the wounded Veteran patient. No person is accountable for their actions.
Whistleblower agencies betray this Chief Radiation Therapist thereby giving the Chief Radiation Therapist no recourse to protect Veterans.
Ultimately the brave Chief Radiation Therapist is the only person to defend the Veterans, thereby saving lives at the cost of her physical and emotional health.
