Criminal Justice Book Awards

Independent Publishers 2009 Bronze
Erik Publishing and author J.B. Simms are the Bronze Medal winners for True Crime for writing and publishing Don’t Get Arrested in South Carolina in 2009. The experience on a criminal case motivated J.B. Simms to write and learn how to publish a book, turning that learning process into additional books. Simms’ first book is an award winner. Winning the award almost did not happen. After submitting the book with no expectation of a reply, the award notice went to my son’s address. After he returned from USAF duties, he told me I “won” something. Afterward, he stated the ceremony was the previous week.

2009 Southern California Irwin Award: Book Publishers, Best Non-Fiction
My first book was published in Southern California. After meeting a part-time writer, he invited me to the Southern California Writers Association. He knew I had published my book. Within a few weeks, I was at the meetings in Los Angles and I submitted the book. Winning the Best Non-Fiction at the Irwin Awards in Los Angeles is quite an honor.
